I'm looking to upgrade from my 1070 Ti and found an open box ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti ROG Strix for $971 at a Microcenter nearby. I'm unsure if it's worth the money. Should I go for it or look for alternatives?

Maybe consider the 9070 XT instead? It's almost as good, and you could save some cash.
$971 is definitely on the pricey side for a 5070 Ti, especially since it's the most expensive version out there. If you can find the ASUS TUF model for about $100-150 less, that could be a better deal. The TUF has the same cooler but without the flashy design that's driving up the price of the Strix.
You could get a 5070 Ti for a lower price elsewhere. Paying extra for the 'ROG tax' on GPUs doesn't seem worth it.
I actually like PNY! They've treated me well in the past, so I can vouch for them.
While $971 isn't the best deal, it's all about getting the card you want if you can afford it. Just keep in mind that you might find cheaper options.
I've seen brand new MSI cards priced the same on Amazon, so that doesn’t seem like a special offer to me.
Good point! The TUF models seem to offer great performance without all the extra costs.
