Is the EVGA 3090 Worth the Extra $60 Over Gigabyte?

I'm considering purchasing a used 3090 graphics card and I've noticed that the EVGA model is priced $60 higher than the Gigabyte version. I'm wondering if the EVGA's features and build quality justify the additional cost, or if I should just go for the cheaper Gigabyte option.

If you can find a much lower price on the Gigabyte, just go for it. At this stage, both cards are getting old and the newer GPUs like the 5070 are out there. Those might save you from future upgrade pain.

Definitely looking into newer cards is wise! But if you’re already set on a 3090, maybe getting the better build quality with EVGA isn't a bad idea.

Honestly, for a used card, the extra $60 may be too much unless you're specifically concerned about the longevity and support EVGA is known for. Just be aware that these cards are getting old, and monitoring temps and performance is key.

Good point! Also, I heard about some issues with the first EVGA 3090 revisions, so maybe I should check that too.

You're right to question the price difference. To be honest, both cards perform similarly within 5% of each other. If you’re only looking for performance, the Gigabyte might be the way to go, but check if the Gigabyte pads are decent or if you'll need to replace them.

True, but my Gigabyte card had issues with fan noise that got annoying. I’d pay a little more for a quieter fan.
