I'm in the process of upgrading my GPU and CPU, and I'm considering the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8G VENTUS 2X OC PLUS priced at $350. I'm unsure if this is the best option around that price range. For context, I'm also getting a Ryzen 7 5700X 8-core processor. My total budget for the CPU and GPU is $550.

Currently, I have a Radeon RX 580 GPU, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 6-core processor, a Corsair Force MP510 SSD, an MSI B450 A Pro Max motherboard, and Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) RAM at 3200MHz.

Honestly, I wouldn't go with the 5060 Ti. You're effectively downgrading in terms of VRAM and potential performance, especially with your current setup. Upgrading the CPU is also essential to avoid bottlenecking the GPU.

Thanks for the input! I'm planning to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 5700X, but I’m still exploring GPU options.

I recommend steering clear of any 8GB GPUs like the 5060 Ti. You're better off with something that has at least 16GB of VRAM. You'll be trading performance when you can get a card that's much more capable now.

I’m definitely leaning towards a 16GB card. Do you have any suggestions?

If you're considering the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, you might want to think about cards with 16GB of VRAM. They will hold their value better and perform more consistently, especially for future games. It could be a better investment in the long run!

Yeah, I agree! The 16GB versions are definitely worth looking into. I'd check out some other models within your budget.

Given your budget, I suggest you look for a used RTX 3080 or an RX 6800. They typically go for around $300 and would give you significantly better performance than the 5060 Ti. Plus, you’ll have some budget left for a possible PSU upgrade!
