I've been using a gaming laptop for a long time and I really need an upgrade. I'm considering the HP Victus 15L R5-5G/8/1000/RX6400 because it seems reasonably priced. However, I'd like to know if its performance is decent and if it's easy to upgrade the RAM and CPU in the future.

If your budget allows, I’d suggest looking at the Victus 16L or considering building your own PC. You’ll get much better performance out of either option.
I'd recommend going for the 16L with an 8700F and a 5060. You can even sell the 5060 later on if you want to upgrade further. It's a smarter investment in the long run.
Honestly, the RX6400 isn’t really great. I'd even go as far to say it’s on the lower end of graphics cards today. For modern gaming, you're likely going to be disappointed with its performance in most new titles.
I’ve heard that the RX6400 is underwhelming. It's comparable to the old GTX 970 from way back in the day, which just won’t cut it for gaming these days.
Yeah, that sounds right! Building a PC can be a lot of fun and you'll know exactly what components you're getting.
