Is the Latest Graphics Card Always the Best Choice for My PC Build?

I'm considering building a PC and I'm interested in getting the Nvidia RTX 5050. However, I'm curious if it's really better than the older RTX 3050. My budget allows for both options, but I want to make sure I can handle VR gaming without issues. Ideally, I want to play games like Minecraft with shader packs without overheating my GPU, and I'm also thinking ahead to playing something like Red Dead Redemption 2 in the future.

Honestly, the RTX 5050 isn't a great choice. Many builds avoid it because the RTX 5060 is a more reliable option. For VR gaming, any X50 series GPU will struggle. You might be better off looking at something like the RTX 3060 for decent performance without breaking the bank.

I would say the 5050 can handle some lighter VR games, just not the more demanding ones. It’s not a stellar GPU, but it matches up with the RX 7600.
