Hey everyone! I'm looking to get the MSI B650M-B motherboard since it's priced at around $130 here, which is significantly cheaper than other options available (about 1.5 times more expensive on Amazon and in stores). I'm planning to pair it with an R7 7800X3D or possibly the R7 9800X3D. Do you think the MSI B650M-B can handle these CPUs? I also found the ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F for $301 (including taxes and shipping) which has great features like PCIe 5 and a solid VRM, but I'm considering going with the R5 7500F instead of the R7 7800X3D. By the way, I'm using an RTX 3060 Ti for now but I plan to upgrade the GPU when GTA 6 comes out. Any thoughts?

Yeah, the MSI B650M-B should be more than enough for the R7 9800X3D. I read a review on Tom's Hardware that showed it can deliver up to 140W, and since the 9800X3D usually uses around 100-105W, you should be in the clear. They even mentioned it only spikes over 100W under heavy loads like Prime95. For gaming, these CPUs are quite efficient, so you shouldn't run into issues at all!

I think you're making a smart choice by looking for a budget motherboard. Most B650 boards handle VRM well, except when used with really high-end chips like the 9950X3D. So as long as you're not pushing a crazy setup, the B650M-B should do fine. Just make sure you have proper cooling!

I was curious about the B650M Gaming Plus WiFi too! It's priced around $213.64. But if you found the MSI B650M-P for $151, that sounds pretty reasonable! It might actually be a good value if you want to save even more on the motherboard.

Thanks for the input! I think the B650M-P could be a better deal, I'll have to check if it has the features I need.
