Is the MSI PRO B650-s Wifi motherboard a good match for a 9800x3d?

Hey there! I'm about to build a new PC and I'm debating whether the MSI PRO B650-s Wifi motherboard is sufficient for my setup, especially since I'm looking to pair it with a 9800x3d. I've seen recommendations for B850 boards like the MSI B850 GAMING PLUS WIFI or the MSI PRO B850-P WIFI because they supposedly have better VRMs. I don't really need a lot of features since my old B450 Tomahawk worked just fine, though I do want improved cooling for M.2 slots this time. I also plan to use an RTX 5070ti, so PCIe 5 would be nice, but I've heard the performance gain might be minimal. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Honestly, the B650 should be fine for your needs, especially if you're not planning on heavy overclocking. Higher-end motherboards usually only make a difference if you're really pushing performance. The main thing to look at is if PCIe 5 is important for you. If it doesn't cost much more, it might be worth it just for future-proofing.

That makes sense! I’m mainly looking for something that can keep up without breaking the bank.
