Is the Peerless Assassin Cooler Enough for the 9800X3D?

I'm currently planning my PC build and I'm wondering if the Peerless Assassin cooler will effectively handle the temperatures of the 9800X3D. I've shared my build link for reference. I want to keep temperatures down, but as long as they're within the normal range for a functioning CPU, I'm okay with using a standard budget cooler. I'm also hesitant about using an AIO (All-In-One) cooler due to concerns about potential failures, even though I know the risks are low. Any thoughts or advice would be really helpful!

Unless you're really worried about just a couple of degrees, the Peerless Assassin will handle everything you throw at it just fine! No need to stress about it.

Thanks! I appreciate the reassurance! 🙂

If you want to ensure low temperatures or utilize boost features, I recommend considering an AIO cooler, ideally something in the 280-360mm range. I started with a 240mm AIO and it ran hotter than I liked, so I swapped it out. AMD actually suggests using a 360mm AIO for the 9800X3D. However, the difference in cooling surface area between a 360mm and a 280mm isn't huge, so it might not be a big deal in practice.

That's true, some AIOs don’t have good contact with AM5 sockets, which can affect performance. Many people are successfully using dual tower air coolers like the Phantom Spirit with the 9800X3D and have great results!

Yeah, the Peerless Assassin is a solid cooler! It should work well with your setup without any issues.
