Is the Radeon RX 7900XT a Good Upgrade for My Setup?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 7 5800x with 32 GB of RAM and an ASUS KO OC 8 GB RTX 3060 Ti. Given the skyrocketing RAM prices, I'm not planning on building a new PC anytime soon. I came across an XFX Radeon RX 7900XT Gaming Graphics Card with 20GB GDDR6 for $600 and I'm curious if this is a decent deal. Should I stick with my 3060 Ti or make the upgrade to future-proof my setup? I typically game at 1440p with a 180 Hz refresh rate, and I'm thinking about moving to 4K eventually.

That's a solid point! Just to clarify, I’ve heard the 9070 XT is great for 2K but can handle some 4K gaming. The 7900XT is primarily a 4K card, which makes it a powerhouse. But a quick question: how important is the VRAM difference? The 9070 XT has 16 GB while the 7900 XT boasts 24 GB. Is that a significant factor or not?

The VRAM can matter depending on the games you play and the textures they use. More VRAM often helps with higher resolutions and more detailed textures, especially in future titles.

For around the same price, you could grab a 9070 XT, which is faster and comes with better upscaling capabilities—something you'll definitely appreciate at 4K resolution.
