I upgraded from a GTX 1060 6GB to an RTX 3060 12GB a couple of years ago, but I was really disappointed because I didn't notice any performance improvement. Now, I found a local deal for a 2080 Ti at $200, and I'm debating whether it's a good upgrade or not. Would it be worthwhile, considering my past experience?

You might not have gotten a defective 3060, but check benchmarks specific to your setup. It's possible you're experiencing a CPU bottleneck.
The 2080 Ti is roughly 50% faster than the 3060, so if you're looking for a boost, that could be a solid choice. Just make sure it fits well with your system!
