Is the RTX 3070 Ti Still a Solid Choice for a Budget Build in 2025?

I'm in the process of building a new PC and planning to grab parts from the second-hand market. The RTX 3070 Ti is currently priced at around $300, which is on par with the Intel Arc B580. My main use for the PC will be gaming. I'm curious if the 3070 Ti is still a good option for today's games, or should I opt for something like the Arc B580, which has more memory?

Yeah, the 9060 XT is being sold around $370 for 8GB without a warranty, so it could be risky. The 16GB version is pricier but makes more sense for future-proofing, especially if you're gaming at higher resolutions.

For 1080p gaming, the 3070 Ti should still hold up for a couple more years. However, at 1440p, you might start running into issues with newer titles like Stalker or Indiana Jones. I used to have a 3070 but upgraded a few months ago because VRAM was becoming a real problem with those games at higher resolutions.

Honestly, if you're getting it cheap, go for the 3070 Ti. I was using a 3060 Ti for 1440p gaming until recently and was able to play most games, though I had to lower the settings on heavier ones. The Arc B580 is actually a bit less powerful than the 3070 Ti, despite having more memory. You might also want to check out the 9060 XT; it's got some good options with memory. Just be careful with the 8GB version, it's probably worth spending a bit more for the 16GB.
