Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GPU, currently using an i5 9400f, and my budget is around $300. I was initially considering the Arc B580, but I heard it doesn't perform well with older CPUs. Now I'm leaning towards the RTX 4060, but I've seen a lot of negative reviews about it, and I'm unsure if it's a smart choice. I also checked eBay for used cards, but shipping costs are quite high due to my location. I'd love to hear your thoughts on whether the 4060 is worth it or if there are better options for my setup.

A lot of criticism towards the 4060 comes from its 8GB VRAM, which isn't ideal for future-proofing. Still, at this price point, it may be your best option unless you're considering something further down the line.
Have you looked into AMD's budget options? Something like a used 6700 or 7600 could be really great too if they're available in your area.
$300 for a 4060 doesn’t sound bad at all. It’s definitely an upgrade from what you have now, even if it's not perfect.
If you're thinking about an Nvidia card, you might want to wait for the 5060. It could offer better performance for your setup.
Have you considered the RX 7600? It’s a solid alternative to the 4060 and should come in around your price point. The 7600 XT is even better with 16GB of VRAM, but it might be a tad over budget.
Before you decide on the 4060, it’s worth noting that it might not be the best fit for your needs. What GPU are you upgrading from?
Not sure if knowing his previous card matters, but mentioning the CPU makes more sense since that's what he's keeping.
I'm currently using a 3050.
I was worried the 7600 XT might bottleneck a lot.
