Is the RTX 5070 Worth It Compared to the 5060 Ti?

Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a GPU upgrade and I'm torn between the RTX 5060 Ti and the 5070. My current setup has a 2060, and honestly, it's time for an upgrade after 5 years. I'm leaning towards the 5070 because of its performance boost, but I've heard mixed opinions about its 12 GB VRAM. Many folks say that 16 GB is preferable for the future, but the 5070 supposedly offers about a 40% performance improvement. I mainly play on a CPU i7 12700kf and plan to pair it with either of these GPUs. What do you think is the better choice for a bit of future-proofing, especially since I don't upgrade my PC often?

I'd suggest the 5070 too, especially considering the price is fairly close ($40 difference typically). The 5060 Ti isn't bad, but for just a bit more, you'll have significantly better performance with the 5070.

If you're just gaming, 12 GB VRAM is usually fine unless you're pushing events in 4K. Just keep an eye on prices; if you can snag the 5070 for around $549, it's a solid pick. And honestly, prices will likely drop more as new cards come out.

Definitely don't settle for over $600, that’s too steep! Waiting for better deals could pay off.

Definitely go with the RTX 5070. Right now, the 12 GB VRAM isn't holding it back, and it performs really well with the latest AAA games on ultra settings. The 5060 Ti just can't compete in terms of performance no matter the VRAM.

Yeah, it's strange Nvidia didn't release a 16GB version of the 5070. But for now, if you're at 1080p, 12 GB should be enough.

Just keep in mind that the 5070 gets a bad rap because of its VRAM. I have one and it runs everything at 1440p smoothly without issues, so it’s really about what works for you.

It’s true; personal experience matters. If you aren’t planning to play graphically intense games at 4K, you should be fine with the 5070.

Honestly, if you plan on keeping the GPU for years, consider the 9070 instead. It's got 16GB of VRAM and will probably be a better long-term investment, even if it costs a bit more right now.
