I'm pretty new to the world of PC parts, but I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from an ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX 3070 O8G V2. I've heard a lot of good things about the RX 9070XT and got really excited about it. However, a friend mentioned that it's not compatible with my motherboard, based on what they learned from an AI tool. This totally freaked me out, and now I'm torn between canceling my order or sticking with it since I want to make sure everything works together. After some extra digging, my friend suggested that everything might actually be fine. I'm really confused and anxious about this upgrade. Can anyone clarify if the RX 9070XT will work with my ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F motherboard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, the RX 9070XT is compatible with your setup. GPUs are one of the few components that don’t need to match architectures. Just make sure your case can fit the card and your power supply is robust enough. If you have any M.2 drives, check how many you’re using too. Otherwise, you should be good to go! Also, sites like pcpartpicker.com can help you visualize your entire build and check for any incompatibilities.

I think my power supply is solid—I’ve got a Corsair RM850e 80 Plus Gold. As for M.2 drives, I'm not sure. I have Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x32 Go 3000MHz for RAM. Super relieved to hear the GPU is compatible; I was sweating thinking about having to completely rebuild my PC if the motherboard had to change!

Yes, you can definitely run the RX 9070XT with the B550-F motherboard. I have a similar setup with a Ryzen 5800X3D and it runs perfectly! No worries on compatibility here!

It's totally fine! Even if you're lacking PCIe 5.0, the performance difference is minimal—maybe around 1% at best, if that. You're all set!

You won't believe how relieved I am! I HAD to trust a person from here and not a friend using chatgpt. THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOUR OPINION MADE MY NIGHT!
