I'm planning to build a new PC from scratch and I'm looking to save a bit on the CPU since I don't play CPU-intensive games. I want to ensure that my CPU can keep up with an RX 9060 XT 16GB at 1080p. I've heard the Ryzen 5 5500 is a decent choice, but I'm open to suggestions. What do you think? Will the 5500 bottleneck the graphics card, or should I consider a different CPU?

The Ryzen 5 5500 should work, but you might want to consider upgrading to the 5600X, 5700X, or even the 5800 series if your budget allows. The 5700X3D is great but can be quite pricey on the used market.
I've been looking into builds like yours too, and I've read that the 5600 is a better choice than the 5500 since the latter isn't being supported much anymore. I'm just waiting on my 5600 to arrive and hope it goes smoothly.
I wouldn’t go for the 5500; it only has 16MB of L3 cache. Opt for the 5600/X or higher if you can. I got my 5600X for about $130 last month. Just check the current prices; it might still be a good deal!
It could bottleneck, but it really depends on the game. Some titles are less CPU-heavy, so you might not notice much difference at all.
Honestly, I'd suggest any Ryzen 5000 chip aside from the 5500 or the ones ending in 'G' because they have less cache. The 5600 and 5600X are solid picks and will perform well with the 9060 XT.
