I'm on a tight budget but I've found a decent deal on the Ryzen 5 5600T. Currently, I'm using an i5-7400, which doesn't even support Windows 11. I'm curious if the 5600T would be a worthwhile upgrade. I enjoy casual gaming, including e-sports titles and some Souls games, and I already own a GTX 1070 SC. Any insights on the performance and value of the 5600T?

I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 5600 from an i5-7400 as well, and it’s been fantastic. I paired it with an RX 7600, and I've noticed a big performance boost. I think you should definitely go for the upgrade, especially since the 5600T will let you future-proof a bit. If you ever decide to upgrade your GPU later, the 5600T will handle that nicely.
To clarify, the 5600T has no integrated GPU. It is just an improved version of the 5600, unlike the 5600G or GT models that have integrated graphics. If you’re just after a good CPU for gaming, it might not be the best choice.
The Ryzen 5 5600T is a decent option, but keep in mind it’s a Vermeer CPU with only 32MB cache, placed between the 5600 and 5600X in performance. If you’re thinking of switching, you'll need a new motherboard, which can make the upgrade feel a bit pricey. Just so you know, your GTX 1070 is pretty much equal in PCIe Gen 3 to what the 5600T offers. I’d suggest considering a 7600 or 7600X instead; they’re AM5 and provide better upgrade potential in the future!
I wouldn't recommend getting the Ryzen 5 5600T unless you strictly need an APU for integrated graphics, which it actually lacks. They generally have less cache than their counterparts, which can really hamper performance. If you're looking for something good, consider the 5700X3D instead if your budget allows.
That makes a lot of sense! I’d like to plan for future upgrades, so maybe the 7600 would be worth it.
