I'm planning to build a new PC and I'm wondering if the Ryzen 5 7600X and the RTX 3060 12GB graphics card make a good combination. I'm on a budget, so I want to make sure I'm getting the best value for my money.

That's a reasonable combo! While there are definitely better budget-friendly options, the 7600X will work well with the 3060, especially if you aim to go with AM5 for future upgrades.
Honestly, the CPU might be a little overkill for the 3060, but it's nice to err on the side of having more power. If you're open to second-hand parts, you might want to check out an AM4 setup with a Ryzen 5 3600 instead; it's cheaper and works well for most games.
One thing to consider is whether you're getting the best value. The 3060 shines more when bought used rather than new. What's your total budget looking like?
I’m thinking around $800-900.
