I'm currently using an old FX-8350 setup and a friend is giving me a GTX 1080. I mainly play DayZ and I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 5 9600XT build, specifically because I want to switch to a micro ATX form factor from my full-size case. The price difference between going with a Ryzen 5500 AM4 build and a Ryzen 5 9600XT AM5 build isn't huge, but I'd appreciate the benefits of DDR5. My question is whether the 9600XT is the best gaming CPU available under $200, or if there are better options out there.

If you can afford it, I'd recommend going with the AM5 setup and the 9600XT—it's just a better future-proof option. DDR5 is a bit pricier, but you'll appreciate the performance enhancements it brings.
