I'm considering getting the Ryzen 9 9950X3D paired with Gskill Ripjaws S5 RAM at 96GB and 5200MHz since it's the cheapest 96GB option I found. Will this combination work well together? I could save about $100 by going for this setup, and I'm curious if it's a good idea or if I should spend a bit more on better RAM for performance.

I get the appeal of a powerful CPU like the 9950X3D, but it seems odd to pair it with such budget RAM. A better choice might be a mid-range CPU with faster RAM instead, as that could actually give you better performance for your money. Just something to think about!
But we don’t really know what they plan on using the system for. If it’s just for gaming, RAM speed isn't as crucial because of the large L3 cache available on the CPU. And if they really need 96GB for productivity tasks, the speed might not be a big factor either. Just saying, if you're spending so much on the CPU, I would suggest looking for RAM at 6000/CL30 though!
