Is the Sceptre 27″ 4K Monitor a Good Upgrade for My Gaming Setup?

I'm considering upgrading my gaming monitor and I found the Sceptre 27" 4K monitor that offers 70Hz. Currently, I have a 25" LG 1080P monitor. I'm mostly into casual games, with Doom Eternal being the most intense title I play. I've heard mixed things about refresh rates—70Hz sounds better than my current 60Hz, but I know there are monitors with higher refresh rates. I'm just unsure if I'd really benefit from a higher refresh rate given my usage. What do you think about this monitor for my gaming setup?

You might want to consider a good 1440p (2K) monitor instead. A 27" or 24" monitor with FreeSync or G-Sync could give you a smoother experience. Even with a powerful GPU, 4K can be a stretch for newer titles, and you might need to lower settings. 1440p is becoming the new standard for gaming while providing great visuals and performance. Definitely worth looking into!

Running 4K can be challenging, especially for a 3070. The refresh rate on your monitor is crucial for the gaming experience—higher rates mean better performance. Doom Eternal can run well at 4K, but for overall gaming, consider a monitor with 144Hz for that extra smoothness. 1440p is a sweet spot for quality without the extra strain on your system. If you drop to 2K, you'll still get plenty of juice out of that PC!

I see! What resolution would you recommend for my setup then if I drop to 2K?
