Hey guys! I'm currently using a 1TB SSD in my PC, but I'm running out of space. I found a Western Digital WD Purple 4TB Surveillance Hard Drive being sold for just $25. I'm wondering if it's a good option for gaming. Can I use it for that, and how well will it perform?

You can use it, but it's going to be slow. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend using any hard drive for gaming anymore. If you can, go for more SSD storage instead. Just so you know, which specific model it is matters; some Western Digital drives have slower SMR models that are really not great for gaming.

In the description it says it's a brand new WD Purple, with specs for continuous 24/7 use and support for up to 64 HD cameras. Sounds robust, but does that affect its speed?
