Hey folks, I'm finally upgrading from my trusty 3060ti, which has been a solid performer but is now bottlenecking my new AM5 setup. I've been looking into graphics cards and stumbled upon the XFX 7900XT, which is currently on sale for $630. I'm aiming for a card that can handle 4K gaming, but I'm not too worried about pushing high frame rates since I primarily enjoy grand strategy games. Is this a decent deal, or should I consider a different card?

Honestly, I think you'd be better off with the 9070XT for $700; it offers more bang for your buck. The 7900XT might not hold up as well, especially with FSR4 being a game changer.
I'd grab either the $600 9070 or the $700 9070XT instead; they provide much better performance overall.
The 7900XT performs similarly to the 9070 non-XT in rasterization, but lags behind in ray tracing. You might want to check if you can get the 9070 for less than $630, which would be a smarter buy.
You can always run it through a price comparison tool like FakeFind.ai to see what others think of it.
If you're mainly into grand strategy games, it might suit you, but if you want to try other genres, I’d suggest looking into the 9070 or 9070XT for a bit more power.
For the price, it's not really a great deal. The 5070 is $540 and the 9070 is around $600, so you could find better options for less.
Yeah, I think the 7900XT doesn't compare well to the 9070 lineup in terms of value.

Did you mean obsolete?
