Is There a Limit to How Many Chats I Can Save in ChatGPT?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to figure out if there's a limit on how many saved chats I can have in ChatGPT, specifically for the Plus version. I've noticed that it still remembers chats I had back in 2023, and none of my old conversations have been deleted yet, which is pretty surprising. I can't find any information on how much storage I've used or if there's an actual limit in MB or GB. Will I eventually get prompted to clean my chats when I hit a limit? Any insights would be super helpful! Thanks!

Yeah, I've hit storage limits before! It can be a hassle because sometimes it retains pointless info. I usually have to sift through and delete memories to make space.

I saw a part of my memory they use behind the scenes while working on a task. It was kind of surprising how they sort through it all!

Have you tried summarizing your memories into capsules? That’s what I do; it helps in cleaning up and updating what I keep!

It's unlikely they'll delete chats automatically, since they use this data for learning. But I wouldn't bet on them keeping everything forever, especially if data storage becomes an issue in the future.

Yeah, thinking about it, all those long chats would take up a lot of space! I can see where this could become a concern.
