I'm looking for a single device that can handle GPS navigation, Apple Pay (not Google Pay), e-reading without app support (just epubs with significant storage), and also let me make calls and send texts. Are there any options out there that fit this description, aside from an iPhone? I would rather not carry multiple devices like a wallet, e-reader, GPS, and a basic phone if I can avoid it!

The Apple ecosystem is pretty tight-lipped when it comes to Apple Pay. So, you're likely looking at Apple devices if you want integrated support. The Apple Watch Ultra with Cellular can do a lot of what you need, but setting it up requires an iPhone. And while it doesn’t support e-reading like you want, it can handle audiobooks! Just a heads up on that.
