Is There a Real Difference Between 3200MHz and 3600MHz DDR4 RAM?

I'm currently using 32GB of 3600MHz RAM with a Ryzen 3700x CPU, but I'm looking to upgrade since I'm often hitting the 20-22GB range with many Chrome tabs open. I found a great deal on a 64GB set, but it turns out it's only 3200MHz. I'm curious if this is a significant downgrade from my current RAM. Will the 3200MHz affect my performance? Should I just return it for a 3600MHz kit?

The difference between 3200MHz and 3600MHz is pretty minor for most users. Unless you're doing high-performance tasks, you probably won't notice any impact.

It's a small difference, but if returning is easy, why not? Getting the 3600MHz might give you peace of mind about performance.

Don't obsess over RAM clock speed alone. There are various factors that dictate performance, and you might not benefit much from the higher frequency alone.
