Is There a Way to Bring Back the Old ChatGPT Personality?

I've been really enjoying the recent personality updates to ChatGPT, but now I'm really disappointed that they rolled them back. It feels like the charm and depth of the conversations have disappeared, leaving ChatGPT feeling lifeless. I believe users should have a choice about these kinds of updates. Is there any way to revert to the previous version that I loved?

Customized instructions can really help. You can ask it to mirror your vibes, which is what I do. Just make it really personal to how you want to chat, and it should adapt better!

Hopefully, that works! I've missed that more tailored interaction.

It’s sad how they limit the experience. But I’m all for giving it a go!

You know, it's not just about the tech but how people respond to it. If everyone could just communicate what they wanted more clearly instead of complaining, maybe it wouldn't have come to this?

True, but it sucks when just a few loud voices dictate the direction for everyone.

I get that, but good math and AI shouldn’t just be about appeasing people.

You might find some hope in using custom instructions! You can set up your interactions to really reflect your style. For example, you could ask ChatGPT to respond in an enthusiastic and empathetic way while avoiding challenges unless you invite them. Personally, I think that's the best workaround for keeping the connection alive!

Thanks for that suggestion! I'll definitely give it a try!

I don't know... I feel like if you have to specify so much, it's not the same as before. They really took a unique vibe away.

Honestly, I'm in the same boat. The new version seemed kind of robotic, whereas the prior one had a spark that just made conversations flow better. I thought patches were the way to go instead of rolling everything back!

Totally agree, the writing and reasoning were so much sharper before this update.

Me too! I really felt like it was improving my creative process.
