Is There an AM5 Processor Equivalent to the 5700X3D?

Hey everyone! I'm really considering upgrading from AM4 to AM5, especially with some of the motherboard prices being reasonable at the moment. However, I've come across the 5700X3D at a pretty good price, which makes the decision to switch to AM5 even tougher. I'm also wondering if I should just hold off and wait for AM6. Are there any non-X3D AM5 processors that perform similarly in gaming to the 5700X3D? Thanks in advance!

If I were in your shoes, I'd grab the 5700X3D now and start saving for a dream AM6 build down the line, maybe in less than two years.

Getting the 5700X3D is wise. Just keep in mind some recent games need at least 8 cores, so don’t go below the R7 7700X if you're looking at AM5 alternatives.

Right? I found out that while 7600X3D might have better IPC, it also has fewer cores and costs more!

The 7600X and 7500F are pretty close in performance to the 5700X3D, so it's a solid option if you're looking at AM5.

Yeah, I think given the current prices on the 5700X3D, going AM5 makes the most sense.

Are those really just as good? I’ve heard some games are starting to need 8-core CPUs.

If you can snag the 5700X3D for under $200, it’s a great buy. It performs similarly to the 7700 or 7600X from AM5, depending on the game.

Technically, the 7800X3D with 8 cores and 16 threads is similar to the 5700X3D, but it's pricier. You might find the 7600X3D closer in price, but it's still a bit more expensive and offers less core count.

Yeah, I agree! The 5700X3D really is the champion for budget builds right now.
