Is This $1,500 Prebuilt PC a Good Deal for Gaming?

I'm shopping for a new gaming PC and found this prebuilt system for about $1,500. The listed specifications are an Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 8GB of GDDR7, a 2TB NVMe SSD, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and an RGB air cooler. The listing doesn't provide details about the motherboard, power supply, case, cooling setup, or exact SSD and memory models. Is this a reasonable value, or would I be better off looking for a system with a stronger graphics card?

If you want to buy from Costco specifically, check whether the MSI system with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD is still available for around $2,000. It isn’t necessarily the absolute best deal, but it’s a much more balanced gaming configuration. Make sure to get the full model number first, since the motherboard, power supply, and cooling details can make a big difference.

I saw that model too, but I’m hesitant because the listing doesn’t show all of the component details. It’s difficult to judge the value without knowing the exact motherboard, PSU, and other parts.

For gaming, $1,500 for a system with an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB doesn’t look especially strong unless the unknown parts are unusually high-end. Put together a parts list using conservative prices for the motherboard, case, power supply, and cooler, then compare the total. At this budget, I’d prioritize a faster GPU over extra storage if possible.

You can find systems around this price with a Radeon RX 9070, which is a much more capable graphics card. One option costs roughly $1,450 before shipping and has less RAM and storage, but the GPU upgrade would matter far more for 1440p or 4K gaming. A comparable 32GB/2TB version is closer to $1,800, so the Costco system mainly has convenience and immediate availability going for it.

A build with an RX 9070 around $1,700 would be a better long-term gaming choice. With some undervolting or overclocking, it should handle 1440p extremely well and can manage 4K with upscaling.
