I'm putting together a gaming PC in Australia with a budget of about $1,912 AUD. The parts are an AMD Ryzen 5 7500F, Thermalright Assassin X 120 SE cooler, Gigabyte B650 Wi-Fi motherboard, Radeon RX 9070 16GB, 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, a 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, an MSI MAG A750GL 750W 80+ Gold fully modular power supply, and a Montech Air 903 Max case. Is this a good value for the money, and are there any changes you'd recommend? I'd also appreciate guidance on assembling it correctly.

If the RX 9070 XT costs only a little more, it would be the most worthwhile upgrade for gaming performance. An 850W power supply would also provide more flexibility for additional drives or a higher-end processor later, although running the current build with the 750W unit should be fine. Make sure the motherboard BIOS supports the Ryzen 5 7500F, enable the memory’s EXPO profile after installation, and double-check that all motherboard and GPU power connectors are fully seated.

The MSI MAG A750GL is a much more useful detail than just saying “80+ Gold.” Gold describes efficiency, not overall build quality. That 750W model should be suitable for this setup, provided it’s the current PCIe 5-compatible version and installed with the correct cables. Avoid using modular cables from another power supply. An 850W unit could give you extra headroom for future upgrades, but it isn’t strictly necessary for these parts.

The main thing is to check the exact power supply model and reviews rather than choosing based only on the Gold label. A poor-quality unit can still fail despite its efficiency rating.

That’s a strong parts list overall, especially the 32GB of fast memory and the RX 9070. It should make for an excellent gaming system. If the price difference is reasonable, stepping up to an RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 could be worth considering, but the current build is already well-balanced. For assembly, a reputable step-by-step PC building video should be enough to guide you through the process.
