I'm buying a CPU for the first time and I got it from Amazon.de. The packaging looks pretty sketchy, as it's completely unbranded—I'm guessing because it's an OEM product? I'm just trying to figure out if that's how it usually looks or if I should be worried? I can't upload images here, but I found a way to share them: https://ibb.co/WpKrcpqy, https://ibb.co/ym3fJM5h, https://ibb.co/Vcg6xyvJ.

Yeah, it’s a tray model designed for PC builders. I even got mine in a full tray of 16 CPUs! So no fancy packaging and no AMD warranty. It’s all part of how they sell bulk. Don’t stress about it!
When AMD or Intel sell their CPUs in bulk to manufacturers, they package them in bulk trays like these. Some of those make it to retail. So seeing a CPU shipped like yours is totally normal—it’s a legit product!
It looks a bit odd, but it seems legit. Normally, CPUs come in better packaging, like a plastic shell, but I don't think there's harm in plugging it in and trying it out!
That's true, once I get my other parts, I'll go for it. Just concerned it might be used since I paid full price. I guess if it doesn’t work, I can just ask for a refund.
Yeah, that packaging is actually pretty standard for CPUs like the 7500F. Since AM5 CPUs don’t have the pins, they can safely be delivered without fancy packaging—nothing to bend here! 👍
Ah thank you very much!
You got it as a "tray" version, right? That's different from "boxed." Tray CPUs come without retail packaging, meant for OEMs or system builders, which is why yours looks like that. So yeah, it’s totally legit!
Makes sense, it does say tray in the description. Is there anything I should look for that comes with the boxed version?
So, you probably bought a "tray" version. That kind of packaging is definitely okay. If you want, you can share the Amazon listing to make sure?
Sure, but many have said it’s fine so it’s not necessary! Here’s the link: [https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0D1CK42PV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title](https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0D1CK42PV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title)
Cool, thanks for clarifying!
