I'm considering switching from Mac to PC because I miss playing games, but I haven't kept up with the latest PC hardware in a while. Can anyone give me feedback on this build? Here's the link: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/dQ7R6Q.

As a music producer using FL Studio, I usually look for a fast CPU with many cores since most DAWs handle multiple threads well. If you're into sample-heavy plugins, consider at least 32 GB of RAM, or 64 GB if you want to go big. The GPU isn’t super important for music production, but it matters for gaming—maybe consider upgrading to a 5080 instead of the 5070Ti. Also, aim for 2 SSDs plus an HDD. One SSD for the OS, and another for your music and games—HDD for extra storage. This setup will keep everything running smoothly!
For gaming, I’d recommend using the 3D version of the CPU. As for the graphics card, the AMD RX 9070 XT is a solid choice, but the 5070 Ti works too—just be mindful of the price.
Thanks for the suggestion! Would the 9800X3D be a good alternative?
The build has potential, but it could definitely be improved. For music production, you really don't need an ultra-high-end CPU. The 9800X3D is great for gaming, but focus on the RAM—you need AMD Expo for optimal performance. Also, the NVMe drive you chose isn’t the best; I’d suggest a different one. Thanks! For RGB RAM, can I run the lighting off? I love the deal but I’m not a fan of flashy lights.
Actually, you want a top-tier CPU for music production because newer synths and plugins are CPU-intensive. The more cores, the better for production workloads!
Awesome, thanks! Is the 9800X3D solid for both gaming and music? I’m used to an M1 Max on Apple, which was top-notch.
