Is this gaming PC build good for general and VR gaming?

I'm planning to build a gaming PC, but I want to clarify that I won't be playing competitive games like Call of Duty or Battlefield, and I don't want to deal with overclocking. I'm also considering VR gaming in the future, so it's important that my setup can handle that. Here's the build I've worked out:

**CPU**: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor
**CPU Cooler**: I'm deciding between the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE and the Deepcool AG620. The retailer is offering the Deepcool as a gift, and I'm unsure if it's better than the Thermalright one. I'd like to save the $60 if possible, but I want the cooler to be effective.
**Motherboard**: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5
**Memory**: Corsair Vengeance 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR5-5200 CL40
**Storage**: Kingston Fury Renegade 2 TB M.2 NVME SSD
**Video Card**: MSI GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB (I already have this)
**Case**: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
**Power Supply**: Corsair RM1000e 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular
**OS**: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro.

Overall, this build would cost about $1540, plus $110 for assembly. I'm stressed about building it myself, so I opted for the assembly service, which includes compatibility checks, stress testing, BIOS updates, and OS installation. The only thing I need to do is install my GPU when I get it home. I just hope that won't cause any issues. Any feedback or advice? Thanks!

While I think your build will work fine, I do have some concerns about the GPU. The RTX 3060 is decent now, but if you're looking for something future-proof, it might hold you back within a year or so. Since you already own it, you might consider upgrading in the future when VR titles start needing more power. Also, keep an eye on your PSU; a 750-850W would be sufficient and might save you some cash.
Ultimately, how well your system runs will boil down to what games you're playing and at what resolution.

Thanks for the input! I do plan to upgrade the GPU later when I can. I just wanted something to get started with, but I'll keep an eye out for sales on better cards.

That build looks solid for your needs! The Ryzen 7 7700X is a great choice, and while 64 GB of RAM is more than you'll typically need for gaming, it won't hurt if you plan on multitasking or using demanding applications. Just keep in mind, for gaming, most titles will run perfectly well on much less RAM.
As for the coolers, if the Deepcool is a free upgrade, I'd say go for it! It should do a good job unless you're planning on serious overclocking, which you mentioned you're not.
In terms of power supply, a 1000W PSU is definitely overkill unless you plan on future upgrades, but it’s better to have too much power than not enough. Overall, this build should serve you well for both gaming and VR, especially once you upgrade your GPU down the line!
