Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to building PCs and have dedicated the last few days to researching parts. Here's the build I've put together after checking out various videos and reviews:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor ($304.64 @ Amazon)
- **CPU Cooler:** ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 77 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($84.99 @ Amazon)
- **Motherboard:** ASRock X870 Pro RS WiFi ATX AM5 Motherboard ($199.99 @ Newegg)
- **Memory:** Crucial Pro Overclocking 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory ($91.99 @ Amazon)
- **Storage:** Crucial P3 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD ($119.00 @ Amazon)
- **Video Card:** ASRock Steel Legend Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB Video Card ($819.95 @ Amazon)
- **Case:** Corsair 3500X ARGB ATX Mid Tower Case ($111.99 @ Amazon)
- **Power Supply:** ASRock Steel Legend SL-1000GW 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX PSU ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Total is around $1912.54, although it's cheaper on Amazon right now due to a sale.
I'm looking for feedback on whether this build is any good or if I'm missing something crucial that newbies might overlook. Also, I've spotted a similar build at Costco for $1899 that has some different components like a B850 motherboard and a 2TB WB Blue drive, plus it includes a keyboard and mouse along with a 2-year warranty, and I'd get 4% cash back with my credit card.
Just to make it clear, I'm aiming for a performance that can handle 1440p gaming, including AAA titles and some esports games (though I'm not super competitive). Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Honestly, I feel this build isn't the best for gaming. I'd suggest going for an X3D CPU instead, plus a better motherboard and GPU for superior performance in games.
You might want to save some cash on that cooler - a $35 Phantom Spirit cooler could do the trick. Also, consider a more affordable B850 motherboard or even a B650 that has BIOS flashback. For RAM, if you can swing it, look for 6000MHz CL30 instead. And about your PSU, an 800W should be more than enough for the Ryzen 7 and RX 9070 XT combo, so you could potentially lower that wattage to save some bucks!
