Is This Low Budget PC Build Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to build my first PC and I'm on a really tight budget. I've put together a build on PCPartPicker (check it out here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FyFPGJ). My main goal is to play some light games right now, but I hope to upgrade in the future when I can afford it. I'd love your thoughts on whether this build is decent for what I want. Also, if you have any suggestions for a cheaper power supply, I'd really appreciate it!

Honestly, I think it might be worth considering getting a used full tower office PC instead and then just adding a GPU later on. There are some great deals out there where you can get a solid PC for just around $69, and then you can upgrade it as you save more money!

I’d recommend considering a Ryzen 5 G series CPU. It would be a good choice for future upgrades especially when you get a dedicated GPU. I’m gonna take another quick look at your build and see if anything else stands out!

If you can stretch your budget to around $450, you might want to consider getting some used components like 2x8 3600MHz RAM for about $20, a used Ryzen 3600 for about $55, and an RX 580 for around $70-80. If you don’t mind running on integrated graphics, looking into a used 5600G is also a solid option! Just some thoughts—hope it helps!

Great suggestions! That RX 580 is a reliable card for budget gaming, and the 5600G would definitely help keep costs down.

It might not be the most popular opinion, but I think it's wise to save up a bit more money—aim for at least $1000, ideally $1500. This way, you'll avoid falling into the trap of needing upgrades right away. If you go the budget route, look for a decent Dell PC and buy a PSU and a used GPU like a 1660 Super. Your future self will definitely thank you for the extra savings!

That’s true! Many people end up regretting not saving a bit more initially. It’s tough to balance now versus later.
