Hey everyone! I'm thinking about building a budget PC and I want your thoughts on my current setup. I've shared my build here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FyFPGJ. I really want to get a PC since I've been saving up some money and promised my parents I'd use my savings for it. I plan to mostly play light games for now, but I'd like to upgrade later on. Also, if you have suggestions for a cheaper PSU, that would be awesome!

I'd recommend considering a Ryzen 5 G series processor. It would be more future-proof, especially when you eventually want to add in a dedicated GPU. Let me take another quick look at your build to see if there’s anything else that could use improvement!

Here’s a thought: instead of a brand new build, how about looking for a used full tower office PC? You can often find good deals, and then just pop in a GPU later on. I know some places sell gaming PCs for around $69! It's a solid way to go.

You could stretch your budget to make it around $450. Maybe grab used parts: like 2x8 3600MHz RAM and a used RX 580 for around $70-80. If you’re okay with integrated graphics for now, something like a used 5600G would be more efficient and let you save some cash for the future. If the games you want to play are on console, you could consider that option too!

Okay, this might not be what everyone wants to hear, but if possible, try to save up some more. Ideally, you’d want to aim for at least $1,000, which would let you get a better setup that won’t leave you wishing you’d spent more. You could buy a pre-owned Dell with decent specs and just add a PSU and a used GPU like the RX 580 or a 1660 Super. Trust me, your future self will appreciate being a little patient!
