I've never built a PC before, but I was asked to help my nephew's parents put together a parts list for his birthday gift. They have a budget of around $1000, and I think I've managed to keep it close to that. I've also picked parts that are all available on Amazon to make purchasing easier. However, I'm uncertain about a couple of things—did I miss anything essential, or do I have any components that are unnecessary or incompatible? He already has peripherals like a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, so I'm not worried about those or the operating system. Could you take a look at my build and let me know if it needs any changes? You might want to save a little more and consider getting an AM5 platform instead. The Ryzen 5 9600X isn't much more expensive than the 3600X, and many AM5 motherboards come with Wi-Fi, which lets you skip the PCI card.
You could probably find a prebuilt PC with specs similar to what you're aiming for at places like eBay or Jawa for about $500-600. Just a thought if you're feeling overwhelmed by the build process!
This is a really good point, thanks! I'll definitely search for some prebuilt options in that price range. However, I think my nephew is really eager to build it himself.
I've put together a different parts list that won’t break the bank and includes some better components. Check it out: [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GcDYt3)
