Hey everyone! My son, who is 10 years old, is working on a PC building project for school, and we have a budget of $500. We've picked up some components during Black Friday sales, and I'm looking for advice before we start opening the boxes. Here's what we have so far:
1. **CPU**: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X
2. **CPU Cooler**: Cooler Master 240 Elite Liquid CPU Liquid Cooler
3. **Motherboard**: GIGABYTE B650M GAMING PLUS WIFI AM5
4. **RAM**: Team Group 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR5 6000
5. **Case**: SAMA 2851 ATX Mid-Tower with 4 ARGB PWM Fans
6. **SSD**: Team Group T-FORCE G50 M.2 512GB PCIe 4.0
7. **Power Supply**: Apevia ATX-PR600W 600W
8. **Thermal Paste**: Just a small tube we picked up.
I'd love to know if these parts are compatible and if we need anything else to complete the build. We don't have plans to add a GPU initially, but I'd appreciate some suggestions for a budget-friendly GPU for future upgrades! Thanks a lot for any help you can provide!

This is a great project for bonding with your son! Just a heads-up: you might need to update the BIOS on the motherboard to get the CPU to work properly. Gigabyte motherboards usually let you do this without needing the CPU initially. Also, be cautious with the GPU choice; you won't want to go overboard since the build may not fully utilize a high-end GPU. I’d suggest looking at an AMD RX 9060XT 8GB for 1080p gaming.
Liquid cooling can be tricky for first-timers, so make sure that setup is user-friendly! Regarding storage, 512GB is a bit tight these days. I’d recommend adding a low-cost SATA drive. If you're considering a GPU in the future, the 7600XT or 6700XT are options to think about, but the current integrated graphics might not handle anything too demanding.
The build looks solid! For a budget GPU, I'd recommend checking out the RX 9060XT 16GB, which runs around $350. There's also the Arc B580 for about $250. If you're pinching pennies, the RTX 5050 can be a stopgap if you find it for $200. Just keep in mind that the 9060XT is probably the best bet for performance down the line.
