Hi all! I just picked up a Ryzen 7 5700X from a reliable store, and I noticed there's a small sticker in the center of the black substrate on the gold-pin side—definitely not on the pins themselves. The seller claimed it's there for warranty purposes, but I haven't seen this type of sticker before. Is this a usual practice for Ryzen CPUs, or should I be worried? Also, I currently don't have any isopropyl alcohol to clean it, so I'd appreciate any tips on handling this safely! Here's a link to a pic I took: https://imgur.com/a/o6rfjA8

In some places, especially shops in China, they do this kind of thing. The sticker isn’t conductive, so it shouldn’t mess with anything. I’ve never had issues leaving it on.
Based on your picture, it looks fine. While it's not the usual scenario, it might just be a CPU from a refurbisher. Just install it and keep the receipt for warranty. Enjoy your Ryzen 7 5700X!
That sticker isn't typical for Ryzen CPUs at all. Usually, AMD doesn't put warranty stickers on their processors; they only come on the box. I’d recommend returning it just to be safe.
This is definitely not standard from the manufacturer. It seems more like something a shop might have done rather than AMD itself.
It's not normal but it shouldn’t affect the CPU's performance. If you want, you could leave it on and not worry about removing it.
