Is Upgrading from a 12600KF to a 14600K Worth It?

Hey everyone! I currently have an Intel 12600KF paired with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and an RTX 3080, mainly using it for Microsoft Flight Simulator. My local PC shop is selling the 14600K for €150 (down from €200), while the 12600KF is still priced at €160. I'm trying to decide if the upgrade would be worthwhile considering that MSFS is quite CPU-intensive. UserBenchmark shows a potential 13% performance increase. What do you think?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the upgrade. The performance bump is estimated at about 10-15% depending on the software, but that's not huge. Plus, UserBenchmark isn't the most reliable source. If you're craving improved performance, you might want to consider going for a 12th or 13th gen Intel chip like the 14900 instead of the 14600.

I don’t think it’s worth the switch. The 14600K is pretty similar to your current CPU, just with a couple more E-cores and a higher clock speed. Have you tried overclocking your 12600KF? You could easily push it to 4.9-5.0 GHz on the P-cores and around 3.9-4.0 on the E-cores with hardly any effort!

Yeah, I've pushed it to 4.8 across all cores with a 0.1V undervolt, and it stays cool at 75C under full load using a Noctua NH-D15. E-cores are at 3.9.
