Is upgrading from a 1660 Super to a 3060 Ti a good move for gaming?

I'm currently using an NVIDIA GeForce 1660 Super graphics card along with an Intel i7-11700F processor. Unfortunately, I can't run Oblivion Remastered even at the lowest settings, which has been a bit of a bummer. I've heard positive things about the 3060 Ti and wanted to see if anyone thinks it's worth upgrading to. I'm relatively new to PC gaming, so I appreciate any advice you can give! Thanks!

If you're considering longevity, you might want to look at a newer card like the 5060 Ti instead. It could be a better investment in the long run since the 3060 Ti might not hold up as well in the future.

Upgrading to the 3060 Ti sounds like a solid choice! Although it is a bit older, you could probably find a used one around $160-$180. Plus, you might be able to sell your 1660 Super for about $60-$70, making the overall cost lower for you. It should give you a decent boost in performance for modern games.

From my experience, I have a 3060 Ti and it runs Oblivion Remastered decently at 1440p but you'll need to tweak some settings down to medium. Just keep in mind that while the 3060 Ti will handle many games, it's still an older model so consider your long-term needs.

The 3060 Ti is definitely an upgrade in terms of power and should allow you to play newer titles. However, keep in mind that depending on what you want to play and your resolution, its 8GB of VRAM might limit you in the coming years.

Honestly, I think you may find that upgrading to a more powerful card is necessary soon, especially if you're playing larger titles. The 3060 Ti is good now, but not sure how much longer it will be a viable option on the market.
