Hey everyone! Quick question for you all. I've been using my PC for college work like animation in Blender, Maya, and 3DSMax, as well as gaming on some heavy titles like Space Marine 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Helldivers 2. I've had my 3060 for around 4 years now, and I'm considering upgrading to a 5070ti, which I expect should last me about 7-8 years. Do you think this upgrade is a good idea? Also, is there any risk of cable burning with this new setup? I usually game at 1080p.

Upgrading to the 5070ti sounds like a solid plan, especially if your PSU is above 650 watts. Just keep an eye on the power cables and consider undervolting the card to be on the safe side. It should only pull around 300 watts, so you should be good!
For 1080p gaming, a 5070ti might be more power than you actually need unless you're chasing super high FPS. Most players don’t notice much difference in regular settings anyway!
I'm also using it for rendering, so that extra power is something I'm interested in.
Thanks! I'm planning to upgrade the PSU too, just wanted to be sure about the GPU swap. I'll definitely look into undervolting 😀
