I recently made the switch from a 2070 Super to a 5070 GPU, but I'm still using a Ryzen 7 2700X for my CPU. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the CPU is hitting 100% utilization while the GPU is only reaching around 40-70% in newer games. This bottleneck is causing performance issues, even though overall I'm seeing improvements from my old GPU. I'm considering upgrading to either a 5600X or 5700X to alleviate this problem. Any thoughts or advice?

I think going for a 5700X or even an 5800XT is a solid move. Since your 2700X is maxed out, a more powerful CPU would really help you out, especially with games that take advantage of all the cores. You'll likely see a significant performance boost!
Do you think upgrading from a 5600G to a 5700X is worth it? I’m tempted to switch to AM5, but the RAM is really pricey.
A 5600 or higher should do the trick and really improve your gaming experience!
Both the 5600X and 5700X are excellent picks. Depending on what you find for pricing, a 5800X or even the 5800X3D would also be excellent choices if they're available.
Here's a performance screenshot from BF2042 on high settings with DLSS set to quality. You can see the stats here: [https://imgur.com/a/nawVrPT](https://imgur.com/a/nawVrPT)
If you can find a good deal on a 5800XT, go for it! Otherwise, the 5600X or 5700X will still be major upgrades. Just remember to update your BIOS before installing a new CPU!
I made the jump from a 2700X and 1070 to a 5800XT and 5070, and it's fantastic! I'm getting around 90-95% GPU utilization now, and everything runs smoothly. Plus, the 5800XT is pretty affordable—under 200 bucks!
That's great to hear! I’ve been on the fence about which CPU to get, and your experience definitely helps.

I primarily play AAA games, like BF 2042 and CP2077. In BF 2042, my CPU tends to cap around 90%, and my GPU only hovers around 65%. In Fortnite, though, it hits a solid 100%, leading to sound glitches and visual issues.
