I'm considering an upgrade from my i7 9700K but I want to keep using my DDR4 RAM. I found a motherboard and Ryzen 7 5700G combo for $260 and I'm wondering if it's actually a worthwhile upgrade for gaming, especially with my 7800 XT at 1440p. Any insights?

From what I’ve seen, the 5700G might actually lag behind your current 9700K. Intel’s 9th gen chips generally offer better performance compared to Ryzen 5000 APUs. If you’re looking at upgrades, the 5600 or 5700X series would be significantly faster.
Okay, so would going for the 5700X be a solid upgrade then?
