I'm considering upgrading my current RTX 2070 Super, which I can sell for £150. I'm looking at picking up an RTX 3080 for around £250, so it would essentially cost me £100 for the upgrade. Is this a significant enough boost in performance to justify the cost? Anyone have experience with this upgrade?

Absolutely, the RTX 3080 offers a huge upgrade! I've been using mine for a while and don't see a need to upgrade until the next generation comes out. The 2070 Super was starting to feel outdated, so jumping to the 3080 is definitely a step up.
If you can verify that the card is in good shape, it's a yes from me. Just a heads up, though—buying secondhand can be risky, especially with GPUs that have been used for crypto mining.
For £100, that's a steal! Just make sure to check the seller's reliability. The 3080 consumes more power, though—don't forget to factor in the potential increase in your electricity bill over time.
In my opinion, yes! The 3080 nearly doubles the performance of the 2070 Super and adds 2GB more VRAM. Just for fun, you might want to consider the 4070 too; it has similar performance and some cool new features like frame generation and DLSS 4.5.
Totally worth it! I moved from an RX580 to a 3080, and I saw a massive performance boost—around 300%! At 1440p, it handles most games beautifully, although for the best settings, keep an eye on newer cards if you're into maxed-out graphics.

I'm in the same boat and don’t want to rush my decision. Currently playing at 1440p, and it works fine, but I worry about performance when switching to my 4K OLED!
