I'm considering upgrading from my RX 590 and came across a listing for an RX 5700 XT priced at just $112. It seems like a good deal compared to the RX 6600, which ranges from $155 to $180. I've read that the 5700 XT is generally better than the RX 6600, but since the RX 6600 is newer, I'm feeling unsure. I'm also seeing a listing for an RTX 2070 at $147, so I would love some advice on whether I should go for the 5700 XT or the RX 6600, or if the 2070 would be a better choice.

My 5700 XT has been solid overall. Yeah, it runs pretty hot (thanks, ASRock Challenger D), but I've been able to work through the hiccups. Just keep in mind it doesn't work well with XeSS.
The RX 6600 is definitely my top pick! It performs well in modern games at 1080p, which is really what you want for a solid upgrade.
I’m a bit skeptical about stepping down from the 5700 XT. The RX 6600 can play all games at 1080p well, but if you pick a weaker card now, some future titles might struggle with rendering adequately. Just a thought!
Honestly, for $155, I’d go with the RX 6600. It might be slightly slower than the 5700 XT, but it consumes less power and offers hardware ray tracing, which is increasingly important in newer games.
If I had to choose, I'd lean towards the 5700 XT. I used to have a 6600 XT and you can often find a 2070 Super around $150. At $150, I wouldn’t bother with a 6600 unless it’s below $120.
Honestly, I play a lot of games and I’ve had no issues on my 5700 XT at 1080p. Sure, I don’t play the super graphic-intensive titles, but overall, it’s been smooth sailing.
