I'm considering upgrading my Ryzen 5 3600 processor because I feel like my performance is hitting a wall. My current setup includes an ASUS PRIME A520M-K motherboard, a 250GB SSD for my OS, a 2TB SSD for storage, an RX 6700XT graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and a Corsair 650W power supply. I'm looking specifically at the Ryzen 7 5800XT, which boasts a 4.8GHz speed. Can someone let me know if this upgrade is compatible with my current setup and worth the investment? Also, is my power supply sufficient for this upgrade?

Upgrading to the Ryzen 7 5800XT would technically work in your setup. However, keep in mind that the 5800XT has a default power limit of 142 watts, which is a bit high for your motherboard as it lacks VRM heatsinks. I recommend setting the PPT (Power Package Tracking) to around 75 watts to improve the longevity of your motherboard, even though it might slightly reduce performance. Your power supply should be adequate for this setup, though!
Your power supply is perfectly fine, and you'll definitely notice a boost in gaming performance with the 5800XT. Some games could see a frame rate increase of up to 30fps! It sounds like a worthwhile upgrade if you're aiming for better gaming experiences.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is PPT? I'd like to look into it.
