Is Upgrading from Ryzen 7 5700X to 5800X Worth It?

I recently purchased a Ryzen 7 5700X and I'm in the process of upgrading my PC components. I'm currently using an RX 580 8GB but planning to upgrade to an RX 9060XT with 16GB. I've seen some builds that suggest the Ryzen 7 5800X, but I'm unsure whether spending $250 for that upgrade is worth it. What's your advice? Mostly, I play RPG and survival games, and I want to avoid any severe CPU bottlenecking.

Going from a 5700X to a 5800X is definitely not worth it. You'd be paying for maybe a couple of extra frames per second on a good day. Save your money unless you're looking to upgrade significantly.

Honestly, upgrading to the 5800X from the 5700X isn't going to give you a significant performance boost for the price. You'll likely see only about a 1% increase in performance. Instead, consider saving your money for a future jump to AM5, as that would give you a better long-term upgrade path.

The 5700X is a solid CPU that won't bottleneck your new GPU. If you're not seeing major performance issues in your games, I'd suggest holding off on the upgrade to the 5800X. Save that cash for a more substantial upgrade later on.

I'd really recommend just keeping the 5700X. You might notice some light improvements with the 5800X, but it’s not a necessary upgrade right now, especially since your current setup is well balanced for gaming.

I had a similar setup and upgraded to a 9060XT without any issues. Your 5700X should handle the 9060XT just fine without bottlenecking. It's best to stick with what you have unless you're looking to make a bigger jump to newer tech.
