I just got a 9060XT and I'm considering upgrading my CPU from a Ryzen 7 5800X to a 9600X. Do you think the upgrade would be significant enough to justify the cost of the CPU and a new motherboard? I already have my DDR5 RAM sorted out, and I'm planning to upgrade my gaming resolution from 1080p to 1440p.

Going up to a higher resolution like 1440p will put more strain on the GPU rather than the CPU anyway. Your 5800X should hold up nicely, even at 4K, given you have a good GPU to back it.
I wouldn't bother upgrading right now. If your CPU usage isn't hitting 80% in CPU-heavy games, you're good to go with the 5800X. Consider sticking with it.
Honestly, the 9060XT is a solid GPU, and your 5800X isn't really going to hold it back much. If you switch to the 9600X, don't expect a huge performance boost, especially at 1440p.
The 5800X is still a strong performer. If high frame rates at 1440p are your goal, focusing on a better GPU like the 9070 will yield better results than swapping to a 9600X.
If you're looking for a solid upgrade, why not take a look at the 9070 instead? You'd get better performance at 1440p without needing to change your CPU right now.

Totally agree. The 5800X should handle 1440p gaming just fine unless you're in super demanding titles.
