Is Upgrading My GPU Worth It for My Current Setup?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my gaming rig. It's been a while since I've dived into the PC hardware scene, but with some new games coming out, I feel like it's time for an upgrade. Currently, I have an AM4 motherboard paired with a Ryzen 7 5700 X CPU, 32 GB of RAM, and plenty of SSD storage. However, I'm still using my old GTX 1080, which feels outdated now.

I'm considering upgrading to a new graphics card, specifically the 6700 XT or the 6800 XT, since they're priced reasonably. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on if this would be a significant boost for my setup or if there are any other recommendations you might have!

I'd lean towards the 6800 XT. It’s more expensive, but the performance difference is noticeable. The 6700 XT is decent, but isn’t going to bring as much of an upgrade from a 1080. If you can swing the extra cash, go for the 6800 XT!

Is the performance jump worth the extra $100? Would I still notice an upgrade with the 6700 XT?

Definitely check your PSU and motherboard specs before making the jump. If you have a Gigabyte GA-AB350 motherboard and a 600W PSU, those should be fine for either GPU. The 6700 XT might be a gamble, but the 6800 XT is a beast and worth considering for future-proofing your setup.

What’s your budget and where are you located? That can really help narrow down your options!

I’m in the US and looking for something around $300 or lower. Used cards are fine with me.
