Hey everyone! This is my first time posting here, so I'm hoping to get some good advice. Right now, I'm running a Ryzen 7 5700X with 32GB of DDR4 RAM at 3400 MHz, a 10GB RTX 3080, and an MSI B550 Mag motherboard. My power supply is a BeQuiet Pure Power 12M 1000W Gold+. I game on a 32" 1440p screen and my main game is Path of Exile 2. I've been experiencing some significant FPS drops—while I can get around 140 FPS in my hideout, it plummets to 12-20 FPS during intense moments in maps, like when Breach meets Abyss. I've tried pretty much all the fixes suggested by the community, but nothing seems to help. I know it's still in Early Access, but a friend with a newer setup doesn't have these issues. I'm considering an upgrade to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB of DDR5 6000MHz, and a new X670e or X870e motherboard from Gigabyte. My CPU usually runs at 45-50% while gaming, but my GPU is maxed out at 100%. I'm wondering if it's worth upgrading the whole system or if just a GPU upgrade would be enough for better performance. Any thoughts?

Honestly, it sounds like your GPU is definitely the bottleneck here, especially since it’s hitting 100% usage. If you bump up to something like an RTX 4070 or even an AMD card, you should see solid improvements in FPS. Upgrading to the 9800X3D might not add much unless you're seeing CPU bottlenecks in other titles, so focus on the GPU first.
Upgrading the entire system could be a great long-term solution if you're looking to future-proof yourself, but if you're primarily focused on improving your PoE2 experience right now, a new GPU could do the trick. Just make sure your new GPU won't get bottlenecked by your CPU after the upgrade!
Good point about the bottleneck. I'll definitely keep that in mind while shopping!
Thanks for the input! I was leaning toward a GPU upgrade first, so I'll look into the 4070 suggestions.
